Dear clients, colleagues, partners and friends,
It is with the deepest sadness and heaviest of hearts that we inform you of the sudden and tragic death of our dear colleague, Gretta Lungiswa Jim. She passed away on Christmas Eve in an accident whilst travelling to her family in the Eastern Cape. We all feel the shock and tragedy of Gretta`s sudden loss and our thoughts are with her family and all those who loved her during this difficult time.
In the almost 8 years that Gretta was part of Imcosa and, amongst other things, accompanied our clients to the offices of Home Affairs and VFS, she was known for her warm and friendly nature, and for her talent to manage vastly different personalities and negotiate contrasting interests in pressured environments. With her humble kindness, her respectful sharpness, her professionalism and her deep knowledge of the immigration industry, Gretta achieved vastly successful outcomes for her clients, who have expressed overwhelming appreciation for her over the years.
Gretta`s surviving family includes her two daughters (one of whom turned 14 this week), two young grandchildren, two sisters and her ailing parents. We will communicate soon about possibilities to support the family in this difficult time.
Gretta`s funeral will take place close to her hometown in the Eastern Cape on 7 January 2023. We will gladly pass on any messages or contributions to the family. Please send an email to jwilland_at_imcosa.co.za for details.
Gretta was a much-loved and respected member of the IMCOSA family and her death is a great loss. Our deepest condolences go to those who knew Gretta and are impacted by this tragedy. We will all miss her more than words can express.
