Dear clients, partners and friends,

I hope you can look back onto a successful last year and that your 2020 has started out on a positive note (#TwentyPlenty). Amidst the flood of global and national news ranging from mildly hopeful to extremely worrying, there is also much to report on the visa and immigration front, so I will jump right in.

In this newsletter, you will read about personal impressions of the Minister of Home Affairs, the latest on the critical skills visa list, exemptions for the organized film industry, and for Chinese nationals as a consequence of the corona virus, e-visas, changes to the Refugees Act, dramatic court cases around citizenship and the current state of visa and permit processing times and challenges.

For any questions or further information, my team and I are available and will be delighted to hear from you.

Be well and keep washing those hands,

Julia Willand
