Make sure to check the period of your visa AND the expiry date of your passport

Home Affairs have announced that they will no longer accept as valid such permits or visas which are issued for a period longer than the validity of the passport that they are in. If you hold an expired passport with a “valid” visa or permit, and another valid passport without a visa or permit, this may no longer be accepted as a valid status in the country. We are still clarifying the exact effect of this notice from Home Affairs, but in the meantime we urge those who are affected to approach their immigration advisers for assistance.
