Positive News from Home Affairs!

Heeding one of the recommendations made by the Presidential Task Team (Operation Vulindlela), The Minister of Home Affairs has, with immediate effects, done away with the requirement for so-called “radiological reports” in the context of visa and permit applications. This means that applicants no longer have to undergo costly and at times harmful x-rays when preparing for an application.

Further, as of today, applicants only have to provide police clearance from countries they have lived in long-term during the 5 years prior to application.

Whilst these changes and the speed of their implementation are welcome, we now hope for a similarly speedy implementation of the recommendation to create the long-awaited “digital nomad Visa” or “remote work visa”.
