Deutschland zählt nun aus Sicht Südafrikas offiziell zu den 'high-risk' Ländern in Bezug auf die Covid-19 Einstufung. Was tun, wenn Sie bereits einen Flug nach Südafrika für die nächste Zeit gebucht haben und aus einem 'high-risk' Land kommen?
Es gibt grundsätzlich 3 Möglichkeiten, unter den aktuellen Umständen nach Südafrika einzureisen: mit einem langfristigen Visum (nicht für Touristen - sehen Sie die Kategorien auf unserer Webseite), mit einer speziellen Genehmigung oder über ein 'low-risk' Drittland, in dem man sich dann mindestens 10 Tage aufhalten müsste. Bei weiteren Fragen stehen wir gerne zur Verfügung.
1. With a long-term visa - this will have to be applied for in advance. It has to be one of the ordinary visas, i.e. you will have to qualify for it.
2. With special permission as per Covid regulations. The process is as follows:
"Ein Antrag muss per E-Mail gestellt werden: Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt! Zur Anzeige muss JavaScript eingeschaltet sein! und unterstützt von:
- einer Kopie des Reisepasses und / oder des Visums für einen vorübergehenden Aufenthalt;
- einem Nachweis der in Südafrika auszuführenden Geschäftstätigkeit; (letter of support by your partner)
- einem Nachweis des Reiseverlaufs; und
- einem Nachweis der Adresse oder Unterkunft in Südafrika."
Unfortunately, you will not receive a response from this email before your flight. We have heard of travelers who arrived in South Africa with proof that they had sent this email with supporting documents, and they were made to wait at the port of entry (for some hours) until their request was granted by the officials in Pretoria and they were let into the country. You will have to check with your airline whether they will let you onto the flight, however.
3. If you first travel to a low risk country (e.g. transit through SA straight to Namibia) and remain there for 10 days (documentary proof is required), then you will be able to proceed to South Africa with the negative Covid test.
